It's hard to believe now but Los Cristianos was once a small residential fishing village. It's long since merged into it's nearest neighbour, Playa de las Americas, to form the largest tourist development on the island. Situated on the south west coast of Tenerife it's still a favorite for many locals who have chosen to live here.

The hub of the resort is the harbour and the area that surrounds it - which has been pedestrianised. The traditional Canarian fishing boats and whale and dolphins watching excursions operate from the harbour. Amongst these is the Lady Shelley catamaran. The long jetty adjacent to the harbour is the departure point for the large ferries and jet foils of Navieras Armas and Fred Olsen Express making trips to the nearby island of La Gomera and further out to La Palma and El Hierro.
Los Cristianos is the shopping centre for the south of Tenerife which plenty of places to hunt for souvenirs, eat and drink. The bars and restaurants line the promenade and streets of the town centre. There's a wide variety of quality cuisine on offer. The nightlife consists of fun pubs and karaoke bars which will run on well into the night and next morning! Although not as rowdy as Playa de las Americas.
